How to Build a Streaming Setup
Share
A good stream is not built on expensive gear alone. Viewers notice clear audio, decent lighting, and a stable picture long before they notice expensive accessories.
Audio before video
Bad audio drives viewers away faster than low-resolution video. A USB microphone is the highest-impact first upgrade.
Lighting next
Soft, front-facing light makes a basic webcam look dramatically better.
Then improve the image
Once audio and lighting are handled, upgrade your webcam or add a capture card for console streaming.
Keep the setup comfortable
Use a headset for monitoring, keep your desk organized, and make sure cables are not pulling on your equipment during long sessions.
